Churchie Cricket Cup

$45,000 raised! We were bowled over by a ton of support from spectators, sponsors and players for our inaugral Churchie Old Boys Croclet Cup. Played on the hallowed grounds of Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane, two mediocre cricket teams – Churchie Old Boys ’99 vs ’01 – raised the willow and much needed funds for paediatric brain cancer research.

There was over $6K in raffle prizes up for grabs, plus great music, kids enterainment, food and beverages. The ‘99 Old Boys may have been the victors, taking out the Churchie Old Boys Cup by seven runs, but the real winners were kids with cancer, with so much money raised in an event that was put together in around 6 weeks, led by the formidable Matt Bird.

Thank you to our very generous sponsors, our raffle prize donors, Anglican Church Grammar School for having us, and all the supporters who showed up on the day to cheer their teams on.

As usual, there was banter in the sheds of bigger and better things next year. Can’t wait!
